The South Korean anti-monopoly agency investigates Temu for alleged false advertisements.

Yonhap News Agency quoted industry sources as reporting that the Fair Trade Commission, the South Korean anti-monopoly law enforcement agency, has launched an investigation into whether Temu, a cross-border e-commerce under Pinduoduo (PDD), has illegally used false and exaggerated advertisements.

It is reported that since entering South Korea in July last year, Temu has adopted strategies such as issuing cash coupons to attract new members, and has raised controversy due to the use of roulette gambling games and pyramid schemes; at the same time, consumers are dissatisfied with problems such as delivery delays and poor quality. The commission said that if illegal acts are found, it will be severely punished.
